German Lemken to invest Rs 60 cr in India --- Financial Chronicle
German Lemken, Europe’s largest agro-equipment manufacturer, is investing Rs 60 crore in India to aggressively tap the growing number of farmers resorting to use machinery in agriculture business in India.
"We have set up a new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility at Nagpur in Maharashtra, to produce world class innovative agricultural machinery for farmers," Arvind Kumar, managing director and CEO at Lemken India told Financial Chronicle.
He said the firm has invested a total of Rs 60 crore in 8-5 acre plant with an installed capacity to produce 3,000 farm machines annually. This is the first 100 per cent locally manufacturing facility outside Germany, where it has three plants, he said.
