LEMKEN India Agro Equipment Pvt Ltd has inaugurated its manufacturing plant i.e. 4th production unit of LEMKEN GmbH worldwide. The ceremony was held on 13th Of October 2012, which started by stone unveiling ceremony at the hands of Mrs. Nicola LEMKEN- Partner LEMKEN GmbH in the presence of Michael Siebert, Consul-General of the German Consulate-General in Mumbai, and Dr. Franz-Georg Busse, Managing Director, and other esteemed 250 guests from all parts of India. The guests included personnel’s from the tractor manufacturing industry, LEMKEN India dealers, Customers, progressive farmer around the country, the vendors and the contractors.

Mr Arvind Kumar, MD and CEO welcomed the guests followed by a speech by Mrs. Nicola where she appreciated the quality and infrastructure of the plant which matches the standards in Germany. She says “The first foot print is already made successfully, and now we have great expectations from the future” In a speech Dr. von Busse underlined that “the new Nagpur plant will enjoy strategic significance well beyond India”. A first order for 15 ploughs for export to Africa was even received just a few days before the official opening of the plant.

All the guest were facilitated for a plant tour after the ribbon cutting ceremony and they showed keen interest in understanding the state of art manufacturing cycle of a plough, Starting from the managing and cutting of raw materials to their heat treatment and  finishing with painting and final assembly.

At the press conference attended by journalists from various national and regional media, Arvind Kumar, Managing Director of LEMKEN India Agro Equipment, emphasized that “The manufacture of ploughs and other top-quality implements based on German expertise, at a cost that is in line with the current market situation, constitutes the ideal prerequisite for the successful sale of LEMKEN products in India.”

Products were unveiled and lunched in the presence of all the guests who were also able to take a first look at LEMKEN stubble cultivation and seedbed production implements, which will be launched on the Indian market in the coming year. On the occasion of the official opening, Vikas Rai, a reference customer and proud owner of five LEMKEN implements, took possession of his sixth, a Zirkon power harrow. He commented that “the reliability and high quality of work of these implements have shown a sustained, positive impact on my yields within a short period only, and I will therefore use LEMKEN economically to increase the level of mechanization within my business further”.

LEMKEN cares for the environment; the program was ended with a tree plantation activity. Trees were planted by the hands of key personnel’s from the company.
